Old decatur water works the decatur water works were built beginning in 1906 around the intersection of the south fork of peachtree creek burnt fork creek and an unnamed creek and was expanded to supply and treat the water for the city of decatur just east of atlanta. Many of the old buildings have colorful graffiti that can be fun to photograph. The remains of all of these structures can still be seen today and are often referred as the old decatur water works.

Decatur water works more commonly known as the ruins is a historic site located in mason mill park right off clairmont road. The path foundation path runs through the historic 1906 decatur waterworks a short history of the graffiti before it s all painted over. Completed in 1907 and abandoned since the 1940s the waterworks have fallen into disrepair and are covered with graffiti.
