Making Fabric Leaves
Fuse second piece of fabric over wire.
Making fabric leaves. Fold the rectangle into a triangle by folding it into thirds. Second fold upper folded edge must be tucked as. Pour the water over it stir and leave to soak for about 1 hour. Use floral tape to secure leaf stem to wire and cover wire.
First make the leaves. Materials for making scrap fabric fall leaves and cute little acorn templates for leaf and acorn shapes or whatever shapes you wish to use embroidery floss in a few colors beads buttons and sequin to decorate your finished pieces fiber fill or cotton balls to stuff in your decorations optional. Start with two rectangles approximately 4 by 3. Cut a piece of fabric fold it in half and fuse it together with some fusible webbing.
Generally the concentration depends on the thickness of the fabrics used the thicker the fabric the less gelatine is needed. Cut a length of metal tape about 10 long. For each leaf cut 2 pieces of fabric 3 x4. Fold and iron one of the 4 sides down.
Fuse webbing to ws of one piece. Lay wire in center 1 2 from top. Peel the backing off and lay it down sticky side up. Cut a bunch of your fabric scraps into strips 5 8 1 wide.
Make a leaf template from a piece of cardstock trace the design onto the fabric using a fabric marking pen and then cut it out. Or if you re in a hurry hold the template on top of the fabric and cut around it as i m doing here.
